Company Info
thumbble
(thuhm-buhl)
—noun, verb thumbbled, thumbbling1. Travel technology company
2. Designer of trip planning and travel-inspiration tools
3. Personalized, Pandora-esque service for Savvy Urban Nomads
We’re a travel technology company with the mission of making exploring new places fun and easy.
As travelers, we were dissatisfied with the nitty gritty chore-like nature of trip-planning. We believe thinking about travel should mean thinking about the fun stuff - where and how you want to spend your free time! To help our fellow savvy urban nomads, we address travel pains one by one wherever you are – on the go during your travels, planning from office, or on social sites with your friends. That means cool travel applications for your phone, and soon, on your favorite sites.[back to top]

thumbble Team
Christen Duong, Founder and Head of Product
Christen is our model savvy urban nomad. Christen founded thumbble in 2007 for people like her and their advice-seeking friends. A few years ago, Christen took off on an 18-month journey around the world. Her travels took her across 4 continents, 15 countries, and let’s say 500 municipalities. At the culmination of her journey, Christen was inspired to focus on building products to make exploring our world fun and easy for everyone. Prior to thumbble, her experience includes co-founding the travel lifestyle website Yuppie Nomad and key product development roles at start-ups Analect and Revbox.
Joshua Nguyen, Finance and Business Development
Josh wears the hats of Finance and Business Development for thumbble. Josh’s day job is “coaxing the magic hamsters to make the best product ever better” at Flickr. Prior to thumbble and Flickr, Josh served as a business analyst and program manager in both the tech and investment banking arenas. Josh has a few long, wandering trips under his belt that have led him to the conclusion that long, wandering trips should always be within sight.
John Chen, Development
John is an unapologetic Apple fanboy ever since and honestly, probably before his time at Apple’s Filemaker division. He has over 15 years experience as a developer in the software and internet arenas, focused on Mac and iPhone products. His 2 year-old son Roger follows in his father’s footsteps as an iPhone user prodigy and one of our favorite beta testers. Roger’s newborn brother, David Rafael, will be pinching screens in no time. John travels for tennis watching/playing/enjoyment and would like to make it to all the Grand Slam tournaments (watching, probably) one of these years.
Tejus Shah, Design
Tejus is the force behind thumbble's look and feel. He is also the owner and creative lead at Teajuice Studios, a full service design studio based in New Jersey. He has designed for a number of notable brands, including Toys “R” Us, Audible, and BoConcept. His style is a reflection of his inspirations — his dogs, Pearl Jam and traveling the coasts. Favorite fonts: ITC American Typewriter, Helvetica Neue, Ocean Sans, Bell Gothic and Minion.
Suzanne Dowling, Marketing Consultant
Suzanne brings over 15 years of marketing and advertising experience to the thumbble team. Her background includes six years of marketing professional services for Oracle Corporation. She’s also helped sell top brands on the agency side, like Clorox, Dryers Ice Cream, and PBS. A self described “travel junky,” Suzanne has been to every continent except Antartica (soon!) and has a special fondness for Southeast Asia and the Himalayas.
